2 Day: Signaghi-Bodbe-Tsinandali
Breakfast
Kakheti is the easternmost and most wine-producing region of Georgia, which is famous for its world-famous wines. On this day, we will visit the Bodbe monastery, where the relics of St. Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, are kept. She came to Georgia in the first half of the IV century, baptized the Royal family, and then the entire Eastern Georgia, and was buried in this monastery. There is an atmosphere of harmony, tranquility and true peace. After admiring the views of the Alazani valley and the North Caucasus range, we will go to the cozy town of Sighnaghi – the city of love. The founder of Sighnaghi is considered to be king Heraclius II, who at the end of the XVIII century built a defensive wall 4.5 km long here.
After that, we will go to Tsinandali village, where the progressive Prince A. Chavchavadze built the largest wine factory in Georgia at that time on the territory of his estate. He managed to combine European and Georgian centuries-old traditions of winemaking.
Night in Telavi
3 Day: Telavi-Batonistsikhe-Twins Napareuli.
Breakfast
Telavi is located in the Eastern part of Georgia, in the picturesque Alazani valley, and is the center of the wine region – Kakheti. Telavi is considered not only the center of the region, but also the center of Georgian winemaking. Both the city and its surroundings are striking with the beauty of picturesque landscapes: green river valleys, velvety slopes of the great Caucasus mountains, vineyards where amber and juicy grapes grow.
In the center of the city you can see the ancient fortress of Batonis-tsikhe, as well as the castle of the great Georgian king and commander Heraclius II. There is also another equally amazing attraction in the city center – the oldest tree in Georgia, an 800-year-old sycamore.
Next, we will visit the Twins Napareuli winery, where we will visit the world’s unique “Museum of Kvevri and Kvevri wine”. The Museum complex consists of an 8-meter Kvevri (wine jug) and several halls where the full process of production of Kvevri (jars) and aging of wines in them is described, as well as tasting real Georgian wine
