Tbilisi: The history of this amazing city goes back to the V century, when the Georgian king Vakhtang Gorgasali ordered to build a city in the center of a fertile valley that lies snugly between two Caucasian ridges. It comes from the word “Tbilisi” – warm. Modern Tbilisi is one of the safest cities in Europe and is often among the most popular new destinations due to Georgia’s growing tourism industry. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of various cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds, although the vast majority are Eastern Orthodox Christians.
Tbilisi zoo is the largest in the country. In addition to keeping animals, he is engaged in active research activities. On the territory of the zoo there is a children’s educational circle, a training center, an equestrian club “Spirit”, a hippotherapy Studio, and a veterinary clinic. For visitors with children, there is an amusement Park and a Playground.
The open-air ethnographic Museum was founded on April 27, 1966 by the famous Georgian ethnographer George Chitaya. It is located in the Vake district, West of”Turtle lake” and covers an area of 52 hectares. The Museum’s collection includes more than 8 thousand exhibits brought from all over Georgia. Even houses and other buildings, with the exception of a few structures (for example, the Svan tower), are original. The Museum is divided into 14 ethnographic zones.
