Jvari monastery temple is an ancient religious monument built at the dawn of Georgian Christianity in VI. The temple got its name Jvari (translated from the Georgian “cross”) for a reason. This explains the ancient legend that Nino of Cappadocia placed the Holy cross in this place, which marked the adoption of Christianity by Georgia
Shio-Mgvime monastery was founded by the monk Shio, who was one of the thirteen Holy fathers who came to Georgia to preach Christianity. Before the construction of the temple, Saint Shio lived in a cave, hence the name of the monastery “shiomgvime”, which translates as”Shio cave”. The first Church of John the Baptist was built in the VI century and Shio himself chose the place to build the temple. The monastery quickly became a center of religious activity

The main flourishing of Ujarma occurred in the V-VI century ad, during the reign of VakhtangGorgasali and his son Dacha. At that time, a city citadel with high walls, observation and defensive towers, as well as a residence building and a Church were erected. The fortress was one of the main outposts in the defense of the country from the periodic invasions of Arab and Persian troops.
Alaverdi Cathedral is one of the most famous medieval churches in Georgia.it was built at the beginning of the XI century and is one of the highest structures of its time (until 2004 it was the highest religious building in Georgia). The Church was built on the site of the small Church of St. George. And still the temple is called the Cathedral of St. George (tsmindaGheorghi).

You will go to the ancient festival of Rtveli, Dating back to the ancient cult of Dionysus. Of course, with the adoption of Christianity, the pagan symbols of the holiday fell out of use, but its meaning remained the same: people together enjoy the harvest of grapes and prepare new wine! You will visit the vineyards and collect ripe grapes — during this time, the winemaker and guide will tell you about the care of the vine and the features of harvesting. And then you will see how real Georgian wine is prepared, and you will participate in this process yourself!
After a busy program, we will visit the household, where we will be waiting for a real Georgian dinner with master classes in cooking Georgian dishes
